There are special ID rules for vehicles registered in the name of a business, leased vehicles, and people who do not have an acceptable form of ID.
If your vehicle was purchased in CT, and is newer than 20 model years, you will need a title. The previous owner’s registration is required in lieu of a title for vehicles 20+ model years old. For vehicles with a model year 20 years old or older, you do not need a title. Instead, you need the registration from the last owner.
All used vehicles need to have a VIN verification.
Emissions are required for vehicles over (4) years old and must be completed in the state of Connecticut
